Robots That Vacuum And Mop: It's Not As Difficult As You Think

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself.  remote hoover  and smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks are required like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another notable feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available and comes with a lot of additional features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a great way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a wealth of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
